Bolting
Most residential homes are either built on slab or
raised foundation. The house weight is the primary
reason that keeps the house from moving or falling from
its foundation. Bolting is the process of fastening the
house to the foundation perimeter.
Bolting your house can prevent damage inflicted by:
- Earthquake (to some degree)
- Natural house settling
- Water damage
Damage inflicted can be costly, but will be reduced
using bolting. The benefits of bolting includes:
- Safety of your family
- Safety of the value of your house
- Safety of the valuable personal property within
your house
The bolting process requires that on one story
house anchor bolts will be drilled every 6' on center.
On two/three story houses anchor bolts will be derived
every 4' on center.
